Step 1: Determine how much Control Finish to mix: the contents of one full 18-oz bag (both inner packs) make a solution that will cover approximately 1,000 sq. ft.

Step 2: Open the outer protective plastic bag. Remove one or both inner water-soluble packs.

Step 3: Determine dosage: Use one inner pack of Control Finish to make 1.5 gallons of solution. Use both inner packs to make three gallons of solution. For a stronger solution, both packs may be used in as little as 1.5 gallons of water. Feel free to experiment within this range to see what concentration works best in your conditions. You may want a stronger solution on very windy or hot days.

Step 4: Place entire inner water-soluble packs and contents into the water in your sprayer or power trowel tank. Mix or agitate for about 5 minutes to ensure the material is completely dissolved. Re-agitate if solution is left in the tank overnight.

Step 5: Spray the solution lightly and evenly over the slab.

Step 6: Trowel in and finish concrete. Reapply solution as needed during the finishing process.

Step 7: Unused solution may be kept about 3 days in the sprayer. Agitate before reusing. Wash out container before mixing up a new batch.

Q. What happens to the water-soluble bag?
A. The inner bag dissolves within a minute, allowing the contents to disperse into the mix. It consists of a tiny amount of food-grade material that has no effect on the concrete.

Q. How long is the shelf life?
A. If kept dry, Fritz-Pak products will be good for two years or more. As long as it is still a flowable powder, it is good to use. Once mixed, the solution will be usable for about 3 days.

Q. Will Control Finish affect concrete color?
A. Control Finish has been reformulated to avoid using dark colored material. If applied lightly and evenly, there should be no effect on concrete color.

Q. Can it be used with color hardeners?
A. Yes, it is particularly suited to help in the application of color hardeners.

Q. Can it be reapplied?
A. Yes, you can rewet as needed as you move through your finishing areas.

Q. Will it retard the set of concrete?
A. Not if applied correctly. If excess amounts are sprayed, and accumulate on the surface, some surface retardation may be seen.
